Yep. Home care sector is a mess with waiting lists and because it gets the emotional focus. Everyone wants to age in their own home. Aged Care is increasingly for high care residents and those who just can't cope at home, even with nurse visits. btw how the hell are we going to employ enough nurses to drive around the suburbs all day giving adequate care for thousands of stay at home oldies? Makes much more sense to me that if you need nurse care then be down the hallway, or in a village where help is minutes away. Obviously not the dream but it's practical. I expect Home Care will get a big chunk of $ assistance and Aged Care will be able to charge more on a user pays basis, a bit like private hospitals.
