When I was young, I saw this about 10 times in the 1973 movie I recalled was billed as 'The Jimi Hendrix Story', here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimi_Hendrix_(film), which used to play at the Valhalla Theatre in Glebe, Sydney. Researching now, it comes from this 1968 small doco: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062949/ I watched the 1973 movie again, recently, on I-Tunes. Trailer:
some excerpts:
Hear My Train A Comin' The documentary film Experience (1968) features the only version released during Hendrix's lifetime. Hendrix played the song solo as an acoustic guitar country-style blues and it is considered one of his most memorable performances. In 1973, it was included in the film Jimi Hendrix and the accompanying soundtrack album.
