what is of particular interest is how FMG has burst onto the iron ore scene, they have caused an urgencey not previously seen in regards to obtaining the quality locations.
I know they went hard after the land UMC are currently sitting on.
Don't be surprised if we start to see the bigger boys start to land bank the best locations(via JV's and M&A) to shore up reserves going forward.
Expect to see alot more M&A in the iron ore sector going forward the MMX-MIS deal will only be the beginning.
As for MT Mason I believe it is JMS's plans to conduct a scoping study to work out the potential for a DSO project, as they believe they have significant reserves in the area between Mt Mason and Mt Ida. Much in the way both MIS,MMX,TTY started with around 1mtpa operations while continuing exploration for the bigger iron ore prize.
