A big thankyou to you all for your very kind words and support.

A few things from your overwhelming posts:

Pinto - if it’s not too late and you haven’t been to Treasure Island yet, while not a big drinker he was very partial to a nice Scotch. He actually distilled his own and over the course of the past twenty years, had refined it into an art. Rainwater, triple filtered through charcoal was the secret. We used to call it "Pops Scotch" and as he used to say - not a drop was sold until it was at least three weeks old!

Kalimaya - Yes, he loved the fact that people thought he was a woman. He was 81 years old when he passed away two weeks ago but he was the funniest and most youthful 80 year old you would ever care to meet.

Choo - He didn’t get a great deal of use out of the new 4wd unfortunately but his old twin cab still sits in the drive way - a petrol car with 480,000 kms on the clock no less. It was this mighty twin cab that got him from Qld to Kalgoorlie three times towing his old caravan. The last time he did this he was 77 years old and took him two months to get from Toowoomba to Kalgoorlie via the top end.

He did this to see the FML mines and was able to inspect the three mile Hill plant during and after refurbishment. He was also able to see the Nepean Nickel mine, both surface and underground which again gave him a great thrill. He took many photographs of his time in Kalgoorlie – he was actually a very passionate and handy amateur photographer. In the last few years, he would often be found all over the country side taking photographs with his Focus Minerals hat on backwards – he bloody loved that hat!

For the rest of the posters, your kind words would have humbled him but most of all, given him a great big smile so a very heartfelt and sincere thankyou to all of you.
