This is not good for people in general, with one aspect being those with high mortgages, and may need to sell their family home, move out of the area to look for jobs of which may start a property devaluation cycle in the Illawarra region amongst other things.
55 is still young to retire as at this age, one would be just starting to get ahead save a liitle money, and prepare for retirement. Or needing to work any way, depending on how they have been affected by the GFC in 2008.
