job offer - your thoughts

Hey everyone,

I've got this weird situation that has developed with my job.

I got approached out of the blue by another company and offered a very similar job to the one i currently have with a much higher salary.

They asked me to provide a CV and some referees which i did, both referees are very senior people in my organisation.

Both my referees asked me to give them some information about the job I was applying for and i provided them with the job description.

I've found out on the grape vine that my referees informed the director of what is going on.

Its getting awkward, I dont know, if they they know, that i know, that they know? We have not talked about it.

I like my current job, its just that it appears as if I am worth more than they are paying me.

The other company will provide a written offer this week.

Its all happened in the blink of an eye, what do you think?
