So, i decided to say nothing and continued to work as normal all week.
Late in the week my boss approached me and asked if he could speak with me and told me he knew i had been asked to apply for another job. He had no idea that i already knew that he knew........
Anyways, I just told him the truth and that the I have applied for a new job and that although I do enjoy my current job it is an opportunity to better myself and pays $30,000 more than my current role (to do the same thing).
I kept things positive and didnt mention a word about whether he would consider matching the offer but there was some discussion about 'market rates' for my position.
