I would challenge your view Aimone, judge my negotiation skills at the end of the process, not half way through. lets see what i am capable of securing and revisit.
Without sounding arrogant, i am very good at my job,
My view is that the market says i am worth more money, i plan to maximise opportunities and i am happy to stay or go to a new role.
If i leave, my boss will just have to find someone with the same skills for $30K less than what my new boss is willing to pay.
So far, so good with the negotiations.
Also, just to let you know my referees told my boss he had better do everything he can to retain me, he does not know that i know this.
