How true, goslo.....I once worked in a large manufacturing facility (factory) where they had a dedicated R & D department. About 4 times a year they would bring in one or two engineering students who were in their last or second last year of studies....This was supposedly to give them some real life work experience.
Anyway, one of these guys did a bang up job of designing an adjustable bracket to hold an electric doo-dad which R & D had developed. It was a nifty looking bracket which had everyone suitably impressed with this young fellow. However, opinions changed when they went to fit this thing......There was me, holding some hoses out of the way, a fitter, electrician and the lad ready to get into it....The fitter had to undo some stuff to access the right spot so he asked this almost engineer to grab the stilsons fron his tool trolley only to be met with a blank look and then..."what are stilsons?"....The whole factory including the factory manager took the piss out of this guy for the rest of his stay....He took it all on the chin, though which scored him plenty of points with us rabble.
