The noose begins to tighten around Dr Bruce Reid's neck.

I'd be surprised if any action was taken against individual players. The penalty will be paid by the club and medical staff.

A few million fine won't hurt the club. A new club doctor will have zero impact. Lode points in 2013? Doubt it...too much money involved with the Bombers in the finals.

The AFL like the $$$$$. This exercise was always about creating a clear set of dynamic guidelines to cover the world of supplements and performance enhancing drugs in the decades ahead. Clarity not punishment.

AFL want to continue to gain market traction against the other codes. Having a clear, well-defined, totally unambiguous drug charter will help that. And medical staff will be closely scrutinised and registered/complaint to new AFL regulatory medical bodies.

The AFL will change and evolve. But for the better.
