    You are right. Petrol tax should pay for the roads, but it’s set at a rate that could pay for the roads many times over i.e. the tax dollars are going somewhere else.

    The issue I have is that the tax flows to higher costs throughout the economy, just about all goods and service has to be moved, and they recover the costs via higher prices. The tax is therefore inflationary. It should be reduced immediately.

    Also these ridiculous green policies are adding further to energy costs. It’s a double whammy, and anyone buying food at the shops or paying a mortgage is paying the price.
