From the outset there were three main risks with this well: would HC charge be possible this far from source (migration distance issue), quality of reservoir(s) (oil could be present but unable to extract due to fine-grained sediment and/or other rock characteristic factors), and a fault within the structure which may have limited the fault-independent portion of the structure to a much smaller volume.
