Yes Orocobre has the technology to produce BG
They have a purification circuit that takes primary grade Lithium Carbonate ~99% and churns out BG Lithium Carbonate >99.5%.
There are cost trade offs, environmental factors and customer requirements that determine what percentage of output from Olaroz is Primary Grade or Battery Grade
Once stage 2 is complete approx 1/4 of their total output will be Primary Grade sent to Naraha Fukushima to turn into BG Lithium Hydroxide. The remainder will be a mix of Primary Grade Lithium Carbonate and Battery Grade Lithium Carbonate from the purification circuit.
