Joe Aston AFR Columnist NOT reporter!!

I mentioned this on the Where's Joe thread but thought a new thread appropriate.
Just when the whole Financial World thought Joe was a Financial and Business reporter for the AFR it turns out he is just a 'down the pecking order' garden variety Columnist. Talk about a come down!! The good thing about being a Columnist is that you do not have to have any knowledge of the subject you are covering. And isn't that obvious. As I pointed out many times in posts his articles contain many basic errors..
Unlike Reporters Columnists are not expected to write in an unbiased fashion. And hasn't that been obvious - over and over. In case you were wondering how Joes gets way with it you now know the reason.
Yep, everybody was fooled. He just gets gossip and or information from sources, tarts it up and puts a bit of 'lippy' on it to attract attention.
Ask Ewen Crouch who was quoted as saying the media mauling has affected the CTD share price. And that is obvious as well.
Anyone care to guess where he gets his CTD scraps from? There must be a hotline because if there is one thing Columnists do very little or none of its their own research.
