I , for one , am perfectly happy[politically] for the libs to provide this ''contest of ideas'' .
I am just shocked at how inept they are at the politics of it all.
Of course they may well be taking a principled stand [cough, cough] on this , and have decided to add to their chances of political demise , rather than compromise those principles.
If the voice goes down , the 3 to 4 years of new voters will hate their guts , if the voice wins , they will be regarded as out of touch tools.

Now , I am of the view that the Voice will be a harmless talkfest , but it is important to the vast majority of first nation's people, and may improve the efficiency of government responses to their issues.
We can afford to be , and should be , generous , And I think the majority of Australians will regard the Libs as being Grinches.
