With the greatest respect Alan Partridge, Hockey and the LNP have good reason to believe the numbers may not be good, based on this Government's appalling track record where they have always been wrong.
Take last Friday, just 10 weeks since the Federal Budget, the deficit was out $11 billion real (not Monopoly) Australian dollars. Hockey did not suggest it was Treasury's fault, but rather the Government being responsible for the numbers. A private enterprise would get an independent set of eyes to review an incumbents numbers if it were to take over the operation.
