    The really stupid step was the government's. Going helter skelter into the NBN with no CBA. In their defence they don't actually believe in them so they would have gone ahead anyway.

    The opposition, as you well know, have been wedged. The program is a disaster financially, logistically and operationally - whichever way you want to describe it. It's been used for pork barreling, it stated in Tasmania for heaven's sake, and it's light years away from its targets.

    The opposition in all likelihood will end up dealing with this monster - they have a compromise strategy. They say they will do a CBA when in power - probably a great idea for various options that will scare the daylights out of those who think that we deserve fibre to every home even in the outback and every country dorp because we are Australians.
