I found a copy of "The Victorian Prospectors Guide and Handbook". A classic first published in 1894 and revised many times since . I have the 2009 edition. the geological commentary is exceptional and some of the great Victorian geologists have contributed over the last 100 years
In regards the Inglewood field it says:
"Inglewood is a famous alluvial goldfield. The quartz reefs also were exceptionally rich at shallower levels. Most of the reefs are bedded, and both saddles and inverted saddles are known;want of recognition of this feature led to the abandoning of the field before mining reached any great depth"
Now I know why John Cahill has persisted with this project. He is about to explore at depth if the money comes through.
