As per the most recent investor presentation (03-Jun-13), John Combs appears as NTC President of North America. It's a bit odd that a formal announcement wasn't made, especially considering who he is. John Combs was the chairman and CEO of Grid Net until Nov '12. It's a significant move:

A) Grid Net appears to be highly ranked for smart grid software so NTC definitely don't want to be burning any bridges by poaching their CEO, not that I am suggesting that's what happened.

B) It clearly indicates NTC's desire to make inroads into the smart meter market in the US.

There are several large (1,000,000+ units) smart meter projects in the pipeline in the NA at the moment but I can't figure out which one NTC are piloting for. Let's hope with John Combs on board, NTC can clinch a few projects.
