I can clearly remember John Howard campaigning on his past achievements.
I cannot remember him handing too much credit to others in his party.
He was out of new ideas.
He appeared more as a philosopher, than a politician. He still appears to have a great mind.
Australia's future LNP was always with Peter Costello.

The facts were Howard was never going to win.
Australians voted for "a spin doctor" versus a more credible Government.
At 5.30am on election day David Speers announced, it appears we will have Kevin Rudd as PM without a policy!!
Prior to 5.30 am that day, he had never mentioned those words.

Why! Because the Australian voter was told "its time for a change"!
And we did have a change. A disaster!
