    gdbeech, Howard was PM during an unprecedented booming economy which I will add was not of his making, he just happen to be PM at the time.

    Very easy to handle a budget when money was pouring in faster than you can spend it, and spend it Howard did buying votes to get re-elected.

    If any thing Howard squandered the opportunitys of that time
