Howard was possibly the greatest, most effective, rhetorician of our age alonso.... he could turn a complaint into a compliment, a fact not a falsehood, an opportunity into a crisis as much as a crisis into an opportunity. he was and remains an excellent opportunist.
they've dragged him out in the dying days of the election when Dutton clearly has lost, due to his now incapacities, his disabilities. so of course they need a strong and "credible" rhetor to try to capture a few who have yet to decide against the Libs.
this is more desperation imo. and admission of defeat, given the timing.
