Just letting you know that I was in the Northern Territory working in Defence when the people overboard saga happened.
John Howard did not lie to the public because it was my department that advised him that they were throwing children overboard. A report which we had received from the HMAS Adelaide the ship involved. Conveniently none of the sailors of the HMAS Adelaide were called to give evidence at the Senate enquiry. The only person from the Adelaide was the Captain whose comments were 'I can not remember;
John Howard is more honest than people give him credit.
Now for those of you who asked why did we who know come out earlier, the simple truth is because we are supposed to be non-partial and above all this. Except I get mighty annoyed when people and journalist keep saying that JH lied when he did not. Why not ask the crew of the Adelaide who rescued the children out of the water.
