very true brucey. One thing our society will have to contend with I guess is that many of the young voters at the next election do not have the reference points that we older, and dare I say wiser, Australians have. We have seen many governments through our history and are aware of the pitfalls of voting "in" an alternate government purely through discontent with the sitting government. I once voted out the Libs when I was furious with PM McMahon's aquiescence to the French Pacific nuclear testing and his lame response (to say the least). Their complacency was abhorent at the time. Complacency is the real enemy of any incumbent government. However, I don't believe John will allow that to occur in the party at all. By the way, I (we) soon voted Whitlam out after his governments inept management of the country with his cronies: Cameron, Crean, Connor, Cairns and Khemlani!!!!! I did have some time for Jim Cairns, fair dinkum, at least he had some morals and life experience (esp with Junie Morosi). I could go on, however, I can already feel the rage of the rabid Laborites through the ether! lol
