It seems many posters on this forum want to champion the cause of Trump tapping a champagne glass with gold plated spoon, after one of his successful litigation rulings was handed down - over the cause of McCain tapping on a wall in the Hanoi Hilton in an attempt to communicate with civilian contractor Ernie Brace (who he never saw in person until after the war).
In days gone by it mattered what a military career represented. Dan Quale found that serving with the National Guard back home safely in the States (in an era before 9/11), was no badge of merit in the court of public opinion.
