I thought that his stance on refugees etc was more in keeping with the wishes of the majority of australians. By doing so he has stopped the fragmentation of politics and removed wild cards such as pauline (& with the gst deal knocked out the democrats).
If we had had a coalition labour govt with bomber beazley...pauline...cheryl....natasha........
Not too many people lose sleep over the suffering of a few refugees. Most austs regard people from muslim countries (whether they be muslims or not) as subhuman thanks to the various pr machines at work.
