That means we get to enjoy the election bribes a little longer. If the libs get back in they will take back all they have given, just like last time.

    PM hints at late election
The Prime Minister has indicated he is not intending to go to the polls until later this year.

John Howard is in Adelaide today where he will deliver a speech setting out the Government's fourth term agenda.

There had been speculation that Mr Howard would call an election for August.

But speaking on Adelaide commercial radio station 5DN, Mr Howard has suggested the election is likely to be held later in the year.

"There's another four months before the three years is up and we have very short elections, very short election cycles in this country," he said.

"Three years is an incredibly short period of time and in a way I never like to cut that period short unless there is a very powerful reason to do so."
