Spotted the article below which prompted a Google search and discovered that Mesynthes appears to be in a similar space to CZD. Perhaps a joining of forces would help both to get to whereever they are going.

Mesynthes isn't listed as far as I can see.

Have a look at their web site. (Needs updating which they may do when they shift their plant).

    Article follows:
An award-winning Wellington technology firm is moving to Auckland, claiming it could not find the facilities or the staff to keep it in the capital.

Lower Hutt medical technology firm Mesynthes, which won the Wellington business Gold Awards in 2011, will move next year, taking about half its 20 staff.

Its Wellington manufacturing base and offices at Gracefield are expected to be closed by the middle of next year.

Chief executive Brian Ward said the company's success in the United States meant it needed to build bigger facilities quickly.

"We've looked around . . . in Wellington at the end of last year trying to find a site that would be suitable, couldn't find anything and then we started looking further afield and Auckland is an obvious place."

Ward said the key issue was timing - with another commercial product expected to launch in the next year, it did not have time to build a new plant in Wellington.

"We don't have the luxury of being able to do this over 12 to 24 months, we need to move fast to get it done."

Moving would allow them to triple the size of their plant and purpose-build something to suit them. Finding staff with the right skills had also been difficult in Wellington, he said.

"We need to bring people on with expertise in our industry and we've struggled a little bit with that over the last couple of years."

It was a difficult decision, particularly given the disruption to staff, but should not be seen as a reflection on the region's ability to support technology firms, he said.

In 2010, Lower Hutt Mayor Ray Wallace campaigned on a "hi-tech city" and the same year a community-led initiative called Technology Valley was set up to ensure Industrial Research Ltd, now Callaghan Innovation, stayed put.

Wallace said with more than 800 technology and manufacturing companies still based in the Hutt, Mesynthes' move was not a big blow for the region.

"It's disappointing if any company moves out but Technology Valley is moving ahead," he said.

Technology Valley working group chairman Charles Peterson said the Hutt was the "heartland of manufacturing" and Mesynthes' move was largely about a lack of raw materials, not infrastructure.

Malaghan Institute of Medical Research director Graham Le Gros said Wellington was very good at supporting start-ups, but a move to Auckland was a natural progression for a successful firm.

"When you start to move up the pipeline in terms of product development you need to be closer to management, and marketing, and closer to your money and other competitors."

Le Gros said there was nothing about the city which discouraged innovation.
