Very heavy short selling on the ASX since the release of the FY results. http://www.shortman.com.au/stock?q=gem Too early to see the impact with CHI-X. But I suspect tomorrow’s update on Shortman will show a significant increase in total capital shorted.
My theory is the shorters will start releasing negative broker reports, negative newspaper articles and negative posts on Hotcopper.
I considered the FY16 performance was mediocre but not that bad to justify the heavy selling; other than to scare the herd into selling.
I will be holding and collecting my dividends.
