    Hmmm, since when did the Government get in the business of recognising religion. I would have thought that is a potential breach of section 116 of the Australian Constitution which states:

    "The Commonwealth of Australia shall not make any law establishing any religion, or for imposing any religious observance, or for prohibiting the free exercise of any religion, and no religious test shall be required as a qualification for any office or public trust under the Commonwealth."

    Jediists (?) have every right to have their religion treated the same as other ones. Jedism and Pastafarianism are just as valid (and credible IMO) religious choices as Christianity and Islam. And far less dangerous, although the "dark side" can be nasty.
