The heat has to flow from the granites to the recirculating water. This is partly dependent on thermal diffusion coefficient of the granite, but there are other factors. Its no good having 250 C granite three feet away from the water interface if the recirculting water is barely warm. Hopefully the recirculation tests will provide some answers.
