The inspecie distribution should be announced in the next few months. At this point there will be an ex date for the entitlement. So, yes as long as you hold until the ex date you will receive those free Alara shares.
I view the free Alara shares as a small bonus. Im in SRK for the massive potential of the billion plus iron ore deposit.
