Well the closing price matters a lot to spreads and levels .... A weak close can trigger a stops and weak traders that panic....a strong close can trigger buying etc....
there are lots of tricks in the manipulation game and the closing price makes p&l look good or bad.
The game is all aboout client satisfaction......
