A LITTLE SECRET ABOUT STRIP RATIO; The ratio is tons of overburden waste material to tons of coal in an open pit mine, seeing EER's coal is close to surface it will have a low strip ratio to each seam and a lower strip ratio is an operational advantage because less overburden has to be removed in order to expose the raw coal.
