To me those gloomy about Coal Resources do not seem to have researched sufficiently about Undergroung Gassification of Coal!
My research tells me it is 9 times more efficient than CSM and has been successfully done in Russia for one for a hundred years!!
In Australia we have at least three companies with successful operating Pilot Plants (Lnc,Cxy,CNX) My understanding is that depth does not matter.

So we sit on the biggest Coal Reserves in Australia which if UGC proves successful on a large scale is surely worth a lot more than the bit of oil we have so far seen.
Linc Energy is cashed up having sold its Galliee Coal Reserves in QLD and is concentrating in SA where the Government is more friendly.. They would be a natural JV Partner or outright buyer for CTP.

Forget about mining the stuff... Use UGC and get on with it!!
We are not talking decades here it has been already done for decades!!
