##resources boom - is it all over?##

I glanced at the June issue of one of the major investment monthlies earlier today, it might have been "Personal Investment".

There was an article which argued that the resources boom is now over and that resource stocks will continue to fall.

There was an analogy drawn between Japan in the 1980s and China today. In the mid to late 1980s, the article claimed, it was believed that huge growth in Japan would sustain a lengthy resources boom and a lengthy period of high prices. That extended boom failed to eventuate, just as it will fail to eventuate now on the back of China.
