I think Qantas has been fairly crafty with their timing of this shutdown. Calling it on Saturday afternoon minisises dislocation of their business class passengers, assuming an order is made for the stoppages to cease immediately. Yet, we have disruption to the spring racing carnival and CHOGM, which creates an urgency (for the nation, not Qantas) to get staff back to work, but without pissing off their business class passengers.
