Could this immediate grounding of the fleet be an action to prevent acts of sabotage by maintenance engineers. There have been a number of instances where Qantas planes have had minor problems recently (quiet coincidental I thought at the time).
Just a thought, but union stupidity and thuggery has reared it's ugly head recently in the HSC Craig Thomson affair. Probably very easy to cause a warning light to flash in-flight.
