They wanted to get the heard jumping in so they can off load their short positions in the ETFs.
Now they have managed to reduce their exposure they can let the price get there. Basically a win win for them...
Well..... they and the other mongrels in this caper may still have plenty of uncovered certificates to dispose of so, alas, this volatility is here until the charade is over and people power come to bite them on the bum
