JP Morgan Chase (USA) has just increased their holding in OMC to 9.58%. Interesting bullet point on the JP Morgan Chase website:
"Creates long-term value for the firm through our private equity capabilities, One Equity Partners"
And from the One Equity Partners website:
"One Equity Partners LLC ("OEP") makes private equity investments behind compelling business ideas and strong management teams. Established in 2001, OEP manages $5 billion of investments and commitments for JPMorgan Chase & Co. in direct private equity transactions."
Does this suggest that a "private equity" firm may launch a bid for OMC? Or is it purely an arbitrage play? The plot thickens...
