Most people working for these banks are probably unlikely to be aware of the more criminal aspects of the cabal. "Just doing their jobs".
These guys were at the higher end of the pole and therefore more knowledgeable regarding 'inconsistencies'. Perhaps they had indicated they would not contribute to a cover up.
