    AS far as I can tell the $11B will be paid over a period of some 10-12 years. so it's not a lump sum..it's compensation for telstra wholesale becoming NBN wholesale.

    Also I agree with some posters here that the NBN deal is not necessarily done yet. There are obviously political obstacles to come...However, it would seem that if the NBN gets the green light, TLS gets $11B over 10-12 years and gets split into retail and wholesale, there is a mighty upside to be factored in with relatively little risk???

    This does present like a good buying opportunity even if just for the interim divvy + capital gain.

    It's easy for me i guess cos i have never owned TLS and can look at it objectively without being burned by it before.

    12B shares on issue for 3.8B profit

    thats 32c per share for historical p/e of approx 10

    looks cheap for such a major blue chip
