We believe there are several reasons to be positive on Lynas: 1) valuation upside with the stock trading on a P/NPV of 0.5x; 2) first feed to kiln achieved in November 2012 and first commercial shipments targeted for this quarter; and 3) significantly reduced balance sheet risk. Despite weak rare earths prices, Lynas offers strong leverage to recovering global economies and we believe the substantial valuation upside justifies an Overweight rating."
