As discussed in Chapter 1, the incremental need for critical minerals, particularly lithium, graphite, cobalt, and nickel, will be at least 1,800% by 2040, even in a less aspirational scenario. In the more aspirational NZE, these percentages will likely escalate quickly for all critical minerals ”
