Actually writing something about a person or organisation that damaging and isn’t true is libel, not slander (spoken damaging untruths) but I agree with your sentiments.

I think that JS is between a rock and a hard place.

He either presents himself as someone who didn’t understand how the market works, I.e a journalist for a financial rag that doesn’t understand shorting and just went and told people in financial institutions he was writing an article on Big and didn’t think this might be used by those he was talking to so they would short the stock ( a bit foolish on his part don’t you think)

OR

he needs to come up with some far far better answers to the issue of the shorting to explain something that is looking increasingly like questionably behaviour IMO.

Surely he understand better than most that this is just asking to be investigated.
