i just checked a list of major steel makers on wiki and these were the ones from japan in the top 30:

4 Nippon Steel Japan
5 JFE Japan
19 Sumitomo Metal Industries Japan

other major players from japan on the list were these ones:

Aichi Steel Corporation, Japan
Japan Steel Works, Japan,
Kobe Steel, Japan,
Mitsui & Co., Japan,
Nisshin, Japan,

if anyone with more time wants some homework maybe they can check if any of these co's are actively seeking a new I/O supply.

re: today's SP i reckon a negative lead from the US and a case of selling the news has dragged it down. darn it, it looks like i'll lose my bet with my bro over who'll hit $1 first PLV or GGG!
