i have no doubt these types of negotiations are complex and time consuming. the approach plv has taken makes sense, is reasonable, measured and one that will add to shareholder value in the long term. i guess it's more an issue with setting expectations. the market had assumed a more definite outcome given the words "binding offer" were being touted. the lack of detail in the ann did not help either. this wouldn't be too bad had some short term funding been also negotiated and announced along side this ann - perhaps this may still come in the not too distant future to take advantage of where the SP is today and not where we were. the perception that some placement or SPP is on the cards must be stopping some from buying or topping up.
