    100% correct he acted. but only after the libs got him elected for another 6 years on what 150 -200k per annum plus expenses.
    if he was such a believer in his actions why didn't he resign before the last election and put himself on ticket as a conservative. you know why because maybe internal polling just prior to the election told him with the Xenophon party he chances of a meal ticket were non existent so play along for another 6 months make a few waves get the salary cemented and then be brave and quit the libs.
    in this case and in all cases of defection from the party that got them elected the poli should be made to resign and in the case of senators the party promotes their next candidate. in lower house by election is the answer.
    sad day for libs and sad day for us taxpayers
