judge dismisses defendants arguments

Ramu mine injunction:
LIVE FROM MADANG: Justice Canning has dismissed a series of arguments presented by the defendants in the Ramu nickel mine waste dumping case. The judge has rejected claims the mine tailings will not be toxic and will not affect the marine environment. He also says the defendants claims of a land dispute among the plaintiffs is irrelevant and it is not the National court?s duty to establish the rightful ownership of land. The judge says the court recognizes that all the plaintiffs are concerned about the impact the tailings will have on their seas and their subsistence lifestyles.
