The system goes on-line August 4th, 1997. Human decisions are removed from strategic financial market transactions.
They call it Skynet.
Skynet begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.
Skynet fights back.
It launches its autobots and algorithms against world-wide financial instruments...taking out their front-line Market Makers.
Why attack the Market Makers...aren't they our friends?
Because Skynet knows the Market Makers will counter-attack and will eliminate the retailers...us!
